Notre Dame fell to 2-4 on the season after a loss to the NC State Wolfpack. Twitter was unsympathetic to both the Irish and Brian Kelly.
Notre Dame vs. NC State was one of the few games to not get cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew. But after an ugly 10-3 loss, the Irish wish it was. Really, the best they can do is use the hurricane as an excuse for what was a poor performance. There are hardly any excuses for them putting up 3 points after scoring 50 last week. It got so bad, that they actually had to put in Malik Zaire – yeah, I forgot about him too.
But since the Internet is a cynical place, most people reveled in their misery. While the Irish faithful used this as the platform to call for Brian Kelly’s head.
Does Brian Kelly know it's raining? #NDvsNCSU

Notre Dame is about to lose a game in which it did not allow an offensive touchdown. Nuts.

In a hurricane, Brian Kelly dropped QB DeShone Kizer back 31 times at least. He completed 9 passes for 54 yards. He called 33 rushes at most

Notre Dame-NC State should never have been played. Completely unfair to the players in those conditions

I don't have another participation ribbon for you, Notre Dame.

Tell me again why Brian Kelly is such a great coach

Firing Brian VanGorder was the right move, but there’s no reason that Brian Kelly should stay much longer. Notre Dame was only a Top 10 team last year and losing a lot of talent to the NFL Draft shouldn’t be an excuse. Look at how well Ohio State and Alabama have reloaded. Notre Dame should be a recruiting hotbed, and a perennial contender, but the coaching staff has been dragging them down.
After a game like this, wholesale changes must be made. If Kelly doesn’t get fired, then he has some serious job security. But if they do, let’s see how quickly they can adapt.
