Full streaming details for Saturday’s ACC matchup between the Syracuse Orange and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will try to match their highest win total since 2012 when they host the Syracuse Orange on Saturday night at BB&T Stadium.
Third-year head coach Dave Clawson is quietly making Wake Forest at least competitive, as the Demon Deacons are off to a 4-1 start. Wake Forest picked up a couple of decent early-season road wins at Duke and Indiana before dropping last week’s game at North Carolina State 33-16.
The Demon Deacons have been solid on the defensive end this season, allowing fewer than 20 points per game, with freshman quarterback Jessie Bates standing out with 41 tackles and two interceptions so far. Quarterback John Wolford has been carrying a struggling offense with a team-high six total touchdowns.
Syracuse is off to a 2-3 start in the first year of the Dino Babers era, including an 0-1 mark in ACC play. The Orange couldn’t build on a Week 4 win over Connecticut, as they were blown out at home by Notre Dame last week.
If Syracuse is to be competitive over the rest of the season, it will need to improve defensively, as its opponents are averaging 37.6 points per game. However, the Orange have some talent on the offensive side, with quarterback Eric Dungey throwing for 1,730 yards and 11 touchdowns so far. Wake Forest will need to key in on senior Amba Etta-Tawo, who quietly leads the nation with 840 receiving yards.
