The Patriots made the activation of their revenge-minded quarterback official the day before his season debut.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has finished serving his time in a four-game suspension. NFL.com reports that he will indeed return to the field Sunday. The Patriots will take on the Cleveland Browns, and they are sure to have vengeance on their minds as they take on the worst team in the NFL. The Browns will have the unfortunate honor of facing a quarterback that you never want to face while angry.
Brady was suspended by the league for being found to have involvement in the Patriots’ DeflateGate scandal. After successfully overturning his suspension in 2015, the league cracked down on him again and succeeded in suspending him this year. The Patriots have been fortunate enough to have a coach like Bill Belichick who can find ways to win without him though.
Primary backup Jimmy Garoppolo shocked even his own fans by leading the Patriots to an upset win over the Arizona Cardinals. After suffering a shoulder injury, third-string rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett stepped in and filled in nicely as well. However, the Patriots will still be happy to see their future Hall of Fame quarterback return.
After a 3-0 start, the Patriots suffered a shutout loss at home to the Buffalo Bills. This will undoubtedly give Brady even more fuel. He will certainly be determined to stick it to commissioner Roger Goodell when he makes his 2016 debut. There is still plenty at stake for the seven-time defending AFC East champions.
