After Game 2 of the Washington Nationals-Los Angeles Dodgers series got postponed, when will they decide to reschedule the game?

The first game of the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers series was as good as advertised. It had a lot more scoring than one would expect from a pitching matchup between Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer, but there was no shortage of action. In the end, the Dodgers narrowly escaped with a 4-3 win.

But unfortunately, anyone hoping for an equally entertaining game following a quick turnaround will be disappointed. Game 2 of the series has been postponed, but fans don’t have to wait too long for it. Nationals beat writer Jamie Collier confirmed the new date and start time:

This is both bad and good news. Obviously, baseball fans will be disappointed that they’ll only get one playoff game instead of a doubleheader, but the extra day of rest should serve both teams well.

After Kenley Jansen had to be called upon to deliver a five-out save, he’ll welcome this delay. While the Nationals have an extra day to prepare for Rich Hill, who’s set to be the Dodgers’ starter.

A series like this is why we wish the LDS was longer than a best-of-five. This has been an extremely exciting matchup and one that baseball fans have dreamed of. With no shortage of great hitting throughout both lineups, no pitcher is safe – Clayton Kershaw learned that the hard way.

It’s hard to believe Game 2 will be any less unpredictable Game 1 was, especially now that both teams have had an extra day to prepare. And at least with this weather delay, this series will technically go longer than originally scheduled. It’s a win-win for everybody, really.
