Bills at Rams: 3 things we learned
Here’s what we learned from the Buffalo Bills defeating the Los Angeles Rams on the road.
In one of the more competitive games on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills came away with a big victory on the road. Case Keenum threw a crucial pick-six and the Rams were not able to respond. The Bills would score late and would effectively put the game away.
After winning three straight games, the Rams’ winning streak is over and they will look to bounce back against Detroit next week. The Bills meanwhile are feeling good about their chances and are just a game behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East and in the thick of things in the Wild Card Race. With an ugly game in Los Angeles over, here are three things learned.
3. The Bills’ defense is for real
The Buffalo Bills have a good defense. They do an excellent job of forcing turnovers and turning those turnovers into points. With the game tied on Sunday, they were able to take the lead on a Nickell Robey-Coleman pick-six. Rex Ryan’s defense is playing the way they should and that’s going to carry them.
2. Todd Gurley is struggling
Todd Gurley got on the board with a touchdown this week, but for the second week in a row he struggled. His yards per carry was just 3.1 and he isn’t getting the push up front that he needs. A lot of big things were expected out of Gurley this season, but he has failed to have that big game yet.
1. Rex Ryan’s leash just got a lot longer
After starting O-2, everyone thought Rex Ryan was a goner. Somehow, his team has won three straight games against the Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams. He doesn’t have to sweat job security for a while. His Bills are going to stay in the thick of things in a mediocre AFC and should have a chance at a Wild Card spot.
