Marcus Sherles embarrasses Texans on return for TD (Video)

The Minnesota Vikings are dragging the Houston Texans behind the woodshed.
There might not be a better team in the NFL than the Minnesota Vikings. They’re well on their way to an undefeated start to the season and they can’t seem to stop scoring points. This is a team hat lost both their starting quarterback and starting running back before Week 2, yet Mike Zimmer has coached up a Super Bowl caliber team.
It’s pretty much quintessential Minnesota. They went from having a team that people thought could win, had something terrible happen yet rebounded to be better than they otherwise might have been. Sam Bradford is fully reinventing himself and the Zimmer-led defense is perhaps the best in the league.
Let’s not count out John Marshall graduate Marcus Sherels. The kid from Rochester stayed home for college and eventually found his way to his home-state team where he has quietly become one the best punt return specialists in football. Sherels put his skills on display again on Sunday after the Vikings defense stifled yet another drive for the Texans.
Shereles proceeded to take a punt back 79-yards for the touchdown, thus continuing the utter embarrassment of the Texans.
No one expected this out of the Vikings this season, but that’s par for the course when it comes to the cast of characters they’ve assembled. Sam Bradford was trash, no one knows who the running backs are and Stefon Diggs is the NO. 1 receiving target.
Yet, like Sherels becoming a self-made specialist, the Vikings have pulled themselves up by the bootstraps to become the best team in football. Now it’ time for the rest of the league to buckle and prepare for what Zimmer and company have in store.
