The San Francisco 49ers will be making Colin Kaepernick their starting quarterback once again.

The San Francisco 49ers will finally be turning the football back over to Colin Kaepernick. After head coach Chip Kelly chose to begin the season with Blaine Gabbert as his starter, the team has fallen apart through five weeks. While they weren’t very good to begin with, many were wondering how they could keep Kaepernick on the bench in favor of Gabbert.

According to Adam Schefter, Kaepernick will be the new starter in San Francisco. While moves like this fly under the radar, it will be his first chance working a Chip Kelly offense in the regular season. There are many that believe he still has what it takes to be the franchise quarterback.

All eyes are also going to be on Kaepernick because of his stance against racial injustice. Even though he hasn’t been starting at quarterback, he has started a trend across all sports, where athletes have taken a knee, locked arms or raised a fist during the national anthem.

There is no doubt that his protests will continue, but now he finally gets to play again. One has to wonder if Kaepernick and the 49ers have reworked a new deal, because that was one of the fears of throwing him back out there. If Kaepernick were to get seriously hurt, he could get a large portion of his guarantees for next season.
