The Philadelphia Eagles did not have a first round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft until late in the preseason, when the Minnesota Vikings happened to need a quarterback. Starter Teddy Bridgewater blew up his knee during practice, and the Vikings made a trade with the Eagles for Sam Bradford. Well, that trade has turned out good for both sides, as Bradford has the Vikings at 5-0 in the early going.

The Eagles decided to move rookie Carson Wentz into the starting role, and that ended up being a great decision as well. Wentz is an early favorite for Rookie of the Year, after leading the Eagles to a 3-1 record through the first five weeks. For Bradford, the Eagles picked up the Vikings first round pick, among other things, which at this point would be the last pick of the first round. With that pick, the Birds should go offensive line, and Indiana guard Dan Feeney would be a great selection at 32.

Feeney has been an All-American at Indiana, and has the size and power to move defensive lineman with ease. He could have made himself eligible for the draft last year, but decided to go back to school for one more season. Incredibly, Feeney has allowed only one sack in three-plus years as a starter. Wentz is the key asset in the organization, so spending a first rounder on a player that will protect him, makes perfect sense.
