Best college football quarterback born in every state

Kentucky: Tim Couch – Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky has produced some good college quarterbacks over the years. Phil Simms, Brian Brohm and Jared Lorenzen are three names that immediately come to mind. However, the king of Kentucky-born quarterbacks is Tim Couch.
Couch was born in Hyden, Kentucky and played for Leslie County High School. During his time there, he set numerous national high school records, including most pass completions, passing yards, touchdown passes and completion percentage. He was given Kentucky’s “Mr. Football” award and chose to keep his talents in-state by attending the University of Kentucky.
Couch found himself in a time-split for starting quarterback as a freshman in 1996. This would change over the next two seasons as he became entrenched as the starter for the Wildcats. He passed for at least 3,800 yards and 37 touchdowns in both his sophomore and junior seasons. In 1997, he was named to the All-SEC second team. In 1998, he became a first-team All-American, was named SEC Player of the Year and was a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Couch’s college success led to him being the top overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he was unable to live up the hype and now works as an analyst for Fox Sports South. Despite the disappointments of his professional career, it’s clear Tim Couch is the greatest college quarterback born in the Bluegrass State.
