Best college football quarterback born in every state

Utah: Steve Young – BYU Cougars
Utah has only one college quarterback worth mentioning. That quarterback’s name is Steve Young, and I’m pretty sure most people know about him because of his NFL success. However, Young was prolific long before his Super Bowl victories with the San Francisco 49ers.
Steve was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. He attended Greenwich High School, where he starred in football, basketball and baseball. Despite being heavily recruited by the University of North Carolina, he decided to attend BYU, where he had to battle the record-setting Jim McMahon to become the starter.
Young’s best season came in 1983 as a senior. His performance was simply spectacular. He set several NCAA records, including one for his completion percentage of 71.3. His play helped the Cougars finish with an 11-1 record and earned him All-American honors from several organizations. He also won the Davey O’Brien Award and finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting.
Young went on to have a fantastic career in the NFL, where he won three Super Bowls, two MVP awards and was named to the Pro Bowl seven times. Not only is he a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he is enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame as well.
