NFL schedule Week 6: Who plays on Thursday night?
By John Buhler
The NFL is about to begin Week 6 of the 2016 regular season. What are the two teams that will be playing on Thursday Night Football this week?
Week 6 of the 2016 NFL season begins in San Diego on Thursday, October 13th where the Denver Broncos travel to Qualcomm Stadium to play their AFC West division rival San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football.
The game will be simulcast on CBS, the NFL Network, and Twitter. Kickoff from San Diego will be at 8:25 PM ET.
The Broncos are 4-1 on the year, but are coming off their first loss of the season to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. Denver will be getting back starting quarterback Trevor Siemian, but won’t have head coach Gary Kubiak on the sidelines. Kubiak suffered from flu-like symptoms after Denver’s loss to Atlanta and was later diagnosed with a complex migraine. Special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis will be in charge of the Broncos on Thursday night.

The Chargers have been decimated by injuries and might be the unluckiest team in the NFL this season. San Diego is only a few plays away from being 5-0 on the year and in first place in the AFC West. Instead, the Chargers are 1-4 on the year and head coach Mike McCoy is on the hot seat. San Diego has lost its four games by a combined 14 points.
San Diego doesn’t have much of a home field advantage at Qualcomm Stadium. Expect it to be packed with a ton of rowdy Broncos fans on Thursday night.

However, San Diego easily has the best quarterback in the game in Philip Rivers. He is more than capable of putting up points on this Chargers offense. He’ll have to play an A+ game to beat the vaunted Denver defense to get to 2-4 on the year.
