College Football Picks Against The Spread Early October 15
It has been a rough start to the college football season so far. I find myself at 135-170 on the season, meaning I need to hit roughly 56% of my picks over the rest of the season just to finish at .500. I think I can do just that!

Sunday through Friday, I am the perfect husband. No really, I am. You can ask the boss a.k.a. my wife. I help with all of the household chores, walk the dogs, cook meals, all that good stuff that women love. Come Saturday, my wife hates me. This is MY day. I become one with the couch. Just another piece of immovable furniture. Why am I interested in so many games? Other than the fact that I love college football, here is why: I was possessed by Jimmy The Greek and Lee Corso at the same time!
In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).
This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on teams that involve 1-AA teams.
I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.
This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.
There are 53 college football games this week, making it another big week with a chance to make up some ground. 12 of the games kickoff between noon at 3pm on Saturday. Let’s get to those picks!
Kansas State at (19)Oklahoma(-10.5)(4): Oklahoma’s struggles against Texas are skewing this line. There is no way the Wildcats keep it within ten on the road. If this were in Manhattan, maybe. Oklahoma by about 17.
Vanderbilt at Georgia(-14.5)(4): The Commodores were a mess on offense against Kentucky. This gets ugly early, and doesn’t improve.
North Carolina State at (3)Clemson(-17.5)(2): This looks a tad high. Then again, the best team the Wolfpack have played is probably Wake Forest. I’m taking Clemson.
Minnesota at Maryland(-6.5)(3): The Minnesota offense is a disaster, and the defense isn’t much better. This team has far more talent than they show, which is the only reason this isn’t a five pointer. Maryland rolls here.
Iowa(-12.5) at Purdue(2): Rutgers is likely the worst team in the Big Ten(14), and Iowa only beat them by seven. Give me Purdue.
(20)West Virginia at Texas Tech(EVEN)(2): I still stand by my reasoning in Pick Em. Here we are in week 7, and the Mountaineers still have not played a road game. Give me Tech.
Illinois(-6.5) at Rutgers(3): Illinois is a far better team, but they don’t play consistently enough to make me comfortable. That said, they have been a much better road team than home team. Illini win by double digits.
Georgia Southern at Georgia Tech(-10.5)(1): That half makes me nervous. Really nervous. Give me the Eagles behind Matt Breida to not get covered.
Pittsburgh(-3.5) at Virginia(2): Again, Pitt is the much better team, but they give up a ton of points. I’m taking Pitt, but I have little confidence in them.
Eastern Michigan at Ohio(-6.5)(1): This line is falling, as it should be. It opened at -10. I still plan on taking Eastern Michigan, but I don’t like it being under a TD.
Kent State at Miami(OH)(EVEN)(2): Kent destroyed Buffalo on the road last week. I like them a little better than the Redhawks right now.
Western Kentucky at Middle Tennessee State(-2.5)(2): MTSU has the better QB. WKU has the better receivers and backs. MTSU has the better defense. MTSU also beat Louisiana Tech where the Hilltoppers fell short. I have to take the Blue Raiders, right? Yeah, it’s the safe pick.
