With one race of the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup in the books, NASCAR now moves to Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400.
Unlike last week’s weather in Charlotte when virtually everything was called off because of Hurricane Matthew with both Xfinity and Sprint Cup races postponed to Sunday, the outlook is looking good for this weekend.
Friday should be a great day for qualifying speeds with temperatures expected to be in the 65 degree range under cloudy skies. The track record of 197.773 mph (27.304 seconds) set by Kevin Harvick in 2014 could be in jeopardy at the 1.5 mile pave track because of the time of day it will take place. Saturday and Sunday will have highs in the low 80s.

Jimmie Johnson was the first to punch his ticket into the Round of 8, which begins at Martinsville on Oct. 30, with a dominating late race performance in the Bank of America 500. Of the remaining 11 drivers, only seven others will advance so the pressure is building with the 2016 schedule winding down.
Seven of the 11 have won at Kansas, Jimmie Johnson (three times), Matt Kenseth (twice), Joey Logano (twice), Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski.
