See new Pokemon, characters from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon

Let’s say thanks to The Pokemon Company and Nintendo for revealing eight new Pokemon and a few new characters from the upcoming games.

We’re gradually getting closer to the release of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, and the people behind those games don’t want you to forget that. The latest reveal came in the form of a new trailer and details on a variety of new Pokemon and characters from the eagerly anticipated Nintendo 3DS games.

Most notably, the trailer below shows off some interesting new twists on core Pokemon mechanics. Sivally is a Pokemon who can change type when different items are inserted into the drive on its head, with an attack that also changes type in corresponding fashion.

Also on display are the evolutions of Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o and Kommo-o (don’t ask me how you pronounce those though). Both are Dragon-Fighting types, and the latter has the new move Clanging Scales.

As with previous Pokemon Sun and Moon videos, this one puts a spotlight on familiar Pokemon in new forms in the Alola region. This time around it’s Grimer and its evolution, Muk, both of whom have their own interesting in-story reasons for why they are different.

Last but not least, we’re introduced to Olivia and Ilima. These new characters both look like they’ll be playing important roles in the upcoming games.

This probably won’t be the last video we get from The Pokemon Company and Nintendo, but the wait until release date is now down to a matter of weeks. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon arrive on November 18 in North America, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
