Alabama punt returner Eddie Jackson returned a punt 79 yards and sent Tennessee Volunteers fans to the exits.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have finally busted things open. After the Crimson Tide had their chances in the first half to put away the Tennessee Volunteers, they struggled to put the ball in the end zone. In the second half, they didn’t miss their chances in any way they could get on the board. The final straw that broke Tennessee, came courtesy of punt returner Eddie Jackson.
As the Volunteers punted the ball, Jackson took the ball and returned it 79 yards. From there, Jackson was off to the races and Tennessee couldn’t bring it down. He put Alabama on the board for another touchdown and at that point, the Tennessee fans in attendance headed to the exits.
"Just ridiculous: @AlabamaFTBL scores yet ANOTHER touchdown with the offense OFF the field. https://t.co/0eMhaF9FVV— SEConCBS (@SEConCBS) October 15, 2016"
The Alabama fans that were still in attendance began cheering Jackson’s name and let him here their cries of adulation. While Jalen Hurts was sparking the offense and the defense was having a big day, the special teams had some hits and misses.
They missed a chip shot at the end of the first half, but Jackson came through for the unit with his big return. The team was just too talented at every position for the Volunteers to have a chance.
