Tennessee linebacker Derek Barnett made an incredible interception against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Alabama Crimson Tide spent the first half trying to pull away from the Tennessee Volunteers. While they had a decent lead at the end of the first half, the Crimson Tide could have put a lot more points on Tennessee. Fortunately, Derek Barnett and the Tennessee defense did their best to force some turnovers.

After a fumble earlier led to Tennessee’s only points of the day, the defense stopped Jalen Hurts and the Crimson Tide from scoring again. As Hurts went to throw the ball, it got tipped straight up into the air and the star defensive end was able to come down with it.

"NEVER count out @Vol_Football. Look what Derek Barnett found! https://t.co/JNI9KM3o29— SEConCBS (@SEConCBS) October 15, 2016"

Tennessee’s defense is full of players that can make plays and Barnett is one of the best in the country at making them. Even though he’s a defensive end, he’s incredibly agile and athletically gifted. There’s a reason that many see him as a future star at the next level.

While the Tennessee offense struggled to do much of anything and their defense wasn’t exactly great, some players like Barnett were able to keep things from turning into a blowout early at home.
