Watch Oklahoma Sooners running back hurdle a defender on his way to the end zone.
The Oklahoma Sooners look like they’re back on track after starting the season 1-2 with tough losses to Houston and Ohio State. After beating rival Texas last week, the Sooners hosted Kansas State and wasted little time getting on the scoreboard.
Samaje Perine scored on a swing pass from quarterback Baker Mayfield on the first possession of the game and dove into the end zone for good measure.
Not to be outdone by his running back brethren, Joe Mixon got his chance on the next drive and while it was only an eight-yard touchdown run, it may be a candidate for the best run of the day.
Mixon hurdled a Kansas State defender en route to the end zone to give the Sooners a 14-0 lead.
Mixon is the team’s backup running back, but he would be a starter for about all but maybe 8-10 other schools in the country. That’s just how good the Sooners backfield is with the duo of Perine and Mixon.

And for good measure, Mixon added a touchdown pass to his stat sheet later in the second quarter to put Oklahoma on top of the Wildcats 21-0 and this game is headed for blowout city.
