Here’s how you can watch Saturday afternoon’s Northwestern vs Michigan State game from East Lansing online.
Michigan State is spiraling out of control after a third straight loss. In fact, the Spartans might even have a quarterback controversy on their hands six weeks into the season. Mark Dantonio is trying to weather the storm, but Michigan State has a ton of work to do on both sides of the ball.
Tyler O’Connor has been lackluster this season as the starter and Dantonio might be on the verge of replacing him with Damion Terry, a junior, or redshirt freshman Brian Lewerke. Both might be better options than O’Connor at this point.
LJ Scott, Gerald Holmes and Madre London have struggled on the ground thanks to below average offensive line play. The true stars of the offense have been R.J. Shelton, Monty Madaris and Donnie Corley. The latter is a true freshman and has proven to be the future of the offense.
Northwestern started the season with a couple of tough losses against Western Michigan and Souther Illinois, which put an early damper on the season. Since then, the Wildcats have beaten Duke and Iowa and have lost by just 11 points to Nebraska. Could this season be on the verge of turning around?
The Spartans struggled against Jamaal Williams and the BYU run game last week and might have the same issues with Northwestern’s Justin Jackson this week. He has accounted for 510 yards and four touchdowns on the season, but he is the only legitimate back the Wildcats have.
Clayton Thorson hasn’t been the most accurate passer for the Wildcats, completing just 1,120 yards and eight touchdowns with four picks and a 54 percent completion rate. He might be in for another long day against MSU.
