On Saturday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Panthers and Virginia Cavaliers will go to battle in an ACC game. This will take place at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, VA.
Pittsburgh has had a decent season with their three wins, and arguably could have been 5-0 given how close their losses were. They have fallen by a combined eight points to Oklahoma State and North Carolina. Victories over those two teams could have had the Panthers ranked in the AP Poll. However, they’ll have an opportunity to climb into the mix, if they can beat Virginia on Saturday.
The Panthers have relied on running backs, James Connor and Quadree Henderson in the rushing attack. They have combined for nearly 800 yards and eight touchdowns through the first half of the season. Henderson even has 11.1 yards per carry.
Quarterback Nathan Peterman has also been effective for Pittsburgh. He has 1,115 passing yards and a 65-percent completion percentage so far.
Virginia started the season slow with three straight losses, but picked it up with victories in back to back weeks. They knocked off Central Michigan and Duke.
The Cavaliers have been led by quarterback Kurt Benkett, who has 1,455 passing yards and 13 touchdowns through five games. He is flanked by running backs, Albert Reid and Taquan Mizzell, who have combined for over 500 yards rushing.
