Florida Gators mock the death of LSU’s Mike the Tiger (Photo)

Players on the Florida Gators thought it was a good idea to poke fun at the death LSU Tigers mascot Mike the Tiger with an effigy on the sidelines.
There are a few things that are not debatable in SEC football circles. Those things include that the Grove in Oxford is the Mecca of tailgating and LSU’s Mike the Tiger is the best mascot in college football. However, some Florida Gators players seem to have no respect for the late LSU mascot.
Mike VI died earlier this week after succumbing to cancer. Florida might be cross-divisional rivals with LSU, but this was blatant disrespect showed by some of the Gators players with their antics on Saturday.
Florida players took a miniature cat skeleton and decorated it with purple and gold Mardi Gras beads to troll their SEC rival. That has awful karmic implications written all over it. Keep in mind that Florida still has to play LSU in Baton Rouge on November 19.
Florida/LSU was supposed to be played in Gainesville on Saturday, October 8th. However, Hurricane Matthew had the game postponed and later rescheduled for the late November makeup date.
LSU tried to be as accommodating with Florida as possible to try to get this game in back on October 8. Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley wanted no part of an SEC road game in Baton Rouge.

Since this game has to be played for either team to qualify for the 2016 SEC Championship, it had to be rescheduled. Having it in Baton Rouge is kind of a slap in the face of Florida for not previously being cooperative. Now that Florida players are trolling the death of Mike the Tiger, the Gators foolishly gave LSU more bulletin board material for the next month.
