Here are five can’t-miss games during week two of the 2016-17 NHL season.

With the 2016-17 NHL season officially underway, week 2 is the first full week of hockey games. There are a number of great games this week, but a few of them stand out. Naturally, a lot of these games are either rivalry matches or rematches from last postseason. Those games tend to be the best ones.

This week’s list of must watch games include four divisional rivalry games and a rematch everyone has been waiting to see. It features one of hockey’s oldest and greatest rivalries, a very underrated rivalry, and a battle between two teams in the same state. With a ton of good games this week, it was hard to narrow it down to just five games.

Here are five can’t-miss games from the second week of the 2016-17 NHL season.

5. Montreal Canadiens at Boston Bruins

The Montreal Canadiens will visit the Boston Bruins on Saturday Oct. 22 to continue one of the oldest and most exciting rivalries in hockey. While the rivalry will not be as fun without P.K. Subban serving as the villain for Bruins fans, Shea Weber should replace him in the role. The Canadiens have a bit of a different look since the last time these two teams met in the regular season.

Forward Andrew Shaw should add something to the rivalry. Canadiens fans love to hate Brad Marchand and Marchand embraces the hate. Shaw should play a similar role in the rivalry. Much like Marchand, Shaw tiptoes the line between clean and dirty and seems to thrive off hatred.

This will be the 911th meeting between the two Original Six teams. Montreal has the edge in the series with a 463-336-103-7 record, including a regular season record of 358-265-103-7. In recent years, this has been a back and forth rivalry. Expect a great game between this two rivals.
