The Big 12 will be holding a press conference on Monday to announce whether or not anyone will be joining the conference
One of the biggest stories in college football the past few years has been the potential for Big 12 expansion. As the only one of the Power-5 conferences that has 10 teams and no championship game at the end of the season, this has certainly been one of the hottest topic of conversations and for good reason.
However, on Monday, all of the controversy may be coming to an end, because one way or another, we’re going to get an answer on this issue.
It was recently announced that the Big 12 Conference heads will be holding a press conference on Monday where they’re expected to address potential expansion within the conference. This is a press conference that college football fans have waited a long time for, and on Monday evening they’re going to get it.

Now as for who will be allowed into the conference –if anyone– well that’s still up in the air. While we know that there will be a press conference, we do not know that there will definitively be any schools added. As a matter of fact, there is the outside chance on Monday that the conference will be holding this presser simply to announce that they won’t be expanding anytime soon. While frustrating to a lot of people, that’s a possibility certainly on the table.

As for the schools that could be in, though, well one of the first schools that you look at is the BYU Cougars. They’ve long been rumored to be joining, although an agreement between the two sides would be difficult.
Then of course there are other candidates such as the Houston Cougars, Cincinnati Bearcats, SMU Mustangs, Central Florida Knights and a host of others. Come Monday night, we’ll find out if anyone is in or out — again, if the conference even expands at all.
