Michigan was off this past week but it gave us a chance to bask in what the Wolverines have done this season. In Jim Harbaugh’s second season, the Wolverines are playing at as high of a level as they’ve played in 10 seasons. The Wolverines have a potential Heisman candidate in Jabril Peppers and the defense is among the best in america.
This coming week Michigan faces off against Illinois, the Wolverines might be looking ahead to the following week’s showdown with Michigan State so Michigan might be slow out of the gate. Don’t worry Michigan fans, the Wolverines should win this one easily.
Ohio State was finally tested this season, going down 16-6 at halftime to Wisconsin and in a driving rain, the Buckeyes showed just how good they are and battled their way back to a 30-23 victory over Wisconsin in Overtime. Honestly, this was the perfect game for Ohio State, in some ways it was needed.
Ohio State hadn’t really been tested all season, pulling away in victories over Oklahoma and Indiana, it was clear that Ohio State was the best team in the Big Team but how would they do against the Big Ten’s other top teams. Against Wisconsin, the running game took about three quarters to get going but as soon as it did, Ohio State took control of the ballgame late in the second half. Another thing you saw was the emergence of Nick Bosa, yes Joey Bosa’s brother lived up to the family name in Madison on Saturday night. The younger Bosa collected just a few tackles but along with Sam Hubbard, they helped kill a few Wisconsin drives that could’ve put the game out of reach.
Up next for Ohio State is a trip to Penn State, although this might seem alarming for the Buckeyes it should go a lot smoother as Penn State is one of the more middle of the road teams in the Big Ten.
