53. Recap: The skid continued for the league’s only winless squad as a late fourth-quarter rally fell two points short at Nashville. Cleveland’s ground attack was a non-factor in the two-point loss to the Titans as Hue Jackson’s club managed a mere 40 yards rushing on 15 carries. Rookie quarterback Cody Kessler shook off six sacks and threw for 336 yards and a pair of touchdowns (to wide receiver Terrelle Pryor) while the team played turnover-free football. But the defense surrendered 284 yards and three scores to quarterback Marcus Mariota while the Tennessee ground attack also rolled up 137 yards – 64 by Mariota.
Next Week: Cleveland looks to snap that nine-game losing streak which dates back to last season when they travel to the Queen City to battle the Bengals. Cincinnati has won the last three meetings and are 22-12 in this series dating back to the return of the Browns to the NFL in 1999. But Marvin Lewis’ team is having its own issues at 2-4.

Playoff hopes: Let’s put it this way. The Browns could run the table and finish 10-6 and conceivably miss the postseason. The defense remains a liability and while Kessler and Pryor offer some hope for the future, this is a team more interested in draft choices than somehow getting back in the playoff picture. It just ain’t happening, folks.
. 0-6. Previous: . Cleveland Browns. 32. team
