Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer exits game with hamstring injury
By Chris Drabik
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer exited Monday Night Football with a hamstring injury and did not return with the game out of reach.
The Arizona Cardinals dominated their Monday Night showdown with the New York Jets from the opening snaps of the game, but they did not escape completely unscathed.
Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer, who missed Week 5 against San Francisco with a concussion, left the game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return.
Prior to the injury, Palmer led his team to the final score of 28-3, scoring a touchdown in every quarter. Palmer was 23 for 34 with 213 yards passing and one touchdown strike. Palmer found Michael Floyd in the corner of the end zone for his sixth passing touchdown of the year.
Once Palmer was ruled out, backup quarterback Drew Stanton came in for mop-up duty and did his part to run out the clock and put a stamp on Arizona’s third win of the year.

Stanton often found himself taking the snap and handing the ball off to backup running back Andre Ellington, but he did manage to complete his lone pass attempt for 12 yards.

As for Palmer, the injury does not look to be serious. It seemed as if he could have returned to the game if his services were needed, but was held out just as a precaution. Early speculation does not seem as if he is at risk of missing next week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.
