The Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets did battle in the desert to end Week 6 of the 2016 NFL season, and the Cards dominated throughout.

Second-year running back David Johnson is a star, and the Arizona Cardinals are going to ride him right back into the playoff race. In a Monday night laugher against the New York Jets, Johnson rushed for three touchdowns, including an incredible 58-yard sprint to the end zone.

The Cards dominated the game from the start, and sent the Jets to a 1-5 record to start the season. The only highlight for the Jets was a Geno Smith sighting, as he replaced the ineffective Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without Ben Roethlisberger this week, but the team does not feel his injury will be a long-term issue. Big Ben was injured during the Steelers’ upset loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and had surgery on his meniscus on Monday.

The surgery was just a cleanup of the knee, and though he will be out for the huge game against the New England Patriots this week, his return to the lineup will likely come after their bye week in Week 8.

Speaking of those Dolphins, the team got some bad news on Monday, and they may be without one of their star defensive backs for the remainder of the season. Safety Reshad Jones tore his rotator cuff during the team’s Week 6 victory, and if it is confirmed on Monday, he is likely out for the season. Jones is one of the best safeties in the league, and the already weak Dolphins defense would be devastated by the loss of a player of his caliber.

It looks as if Colin Kaepernick will get a second start for the San Francisco 49ers, as head coach Chip Kelly announced he will be the starter for the 49ers’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. It will be Kaepernick’s first home start of the season, after San Fran was destroyed in Buffalo this past week. Kelly feels that the team can build on Kaepernick’s first start, and it should be a foundation for the future.

The Denver Broncos welcomed their head coach back on Monday, as Gary Kubiak rejoined the team after being away for health reasons. Kubiak was hospitalized after the Broncos’ loss to the Falcons in Week 6, and he stayed away from the team for their Week 7 loss against the San Diego Chargers. Kubiak was suffering from a complex migraine condition, but stated that he feels really good up on his return on Monday.
