After Derrick Rose and his friends were cleared of charges in a civil rape trial, the judge in the case wished the New York Knicks guard well going forward.

New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose has been trying to move on with life with his new team, but the cloud of an ongoing civil rape trial has prevented him from doing so. On Tuesday, a jury of his peers reached a verdict and Rose and his friends were cleared of all charges.

After the case was closed, Rose was excited and began taking photos with jurors that were happy to pose with a celebrity. Even the judge in the case wished him well. Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald wished Rose all the best going forward except for when the Knicks play the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s a little weird seeing such a trial end with photo opportunities and a judge wishing the defendant well, but such is the case here. There’s nothing legally wrong with it and Rose was deemed innocent by his peers.

However, this probably isn’t going to sit well with a lot of people and understandably so. It’s just a weird thing to hear about and look at.
