Napoli face Besiktas at Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The top two clubs in Group B will square off at Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday, as Napoli host Besiktas in Week 3 of Champions League group stage play. The match will air at 2:45 p.m. ET in the states.
Napoli lead Group B with six points, having secured victories against Dynamo Kyiv (2-1) and Benfica (4-2). Despite their middling early season start in Serie A, where they sit fifth in the table, Napoli have thrived so far in the Champions League on the strength of Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik, who is tied for the tournament lead with three goals so far. Napoli will now have to look for scoring elsewhere, however, as the 22-year-old newcomer suffered an ACL injury during international play and will be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery.
Besiktas sit in second in Group B following two draws (1-1 to Dynamo Kyiv, 1-1 to Benfica), and have yet to lose a match this season outside of a loss to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Cup, which was decided on penalties. Besiktas currently sit in second place in the Turkish Super Lig, behind Istanbul BB, as the reigning champs. The match with Napoli will mark the return of Besiktas midfielder Gokhan Inler to Stadio San Paolo, where he played four seasons for the Italian club.

A win by Napoli, coupled with a draw between Dynamo Kyiv and Benfica, would make the Italian club the first team in Champions League history to clinch a berth in the knockout round in just the third week of group stage play. Napoli, looking to make only its second trip to the last 16, is unbeaten in its last 18 matches across all European competition. Besiktas has never advanced out of the group stage in the modern Champions League era.
