4. Mark Helfrich

After a week off, Mark Helfrich and the Oregon Ducks have had plenty of time to do some soul searching. At 2-4, the Ducks need to win on the road against California or risk a very strong chance of missing a bowl game this year.

If the Ducks miss a bowl game, Helfrich is as good as gone. The team has continually regressed under him and it is abundantly clear that any success he did have was a result of the existing players that were in place when Chip Kelly ran the program.

California isn’t going to be an easy team to defeat on the road. They have a passing attack that is going to target every single weakness of Oregon. A 2-5 record would all but seal Oregon’s fate on the season.

They would have to win four out of their five remaining games on the year to just make it to a bowl game. The schedule doesn’t get any easier after this week for Oregon either. They still have games against Arizona State, Stanford, USC and Utah remaining. Not to mention a road game at Corvallis against Oregon State.
