The No. 21 Auburn Tigers defeated the No. 17 Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 8, 56-3. Here are all the highlights, a game recap, and the final score.

The Auburn Tigers absolutely dominated their SEC West rival Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday night to the tune of 56-3. Auburn improves to 5-2 on the season, while Arkansas falls to 5-3 on the year.

Auburn ran at will on the Arkansas defense. The Tigers had 543 rushing yards on the Razorbacks this evening and they averaged 9.5 yards per carry, getting into the end zone seven times on the ground against Arkansas.

Leading the way for the Auburn rushing attack was Kamryn Pettway. He had great support behind him with teammates like Stanton Truitt, Eli Stove, and Kam Martin. Auburn didn’t have a negative play from scrimmage all night.

It wasn’t just the offense that made this a blowout in Auburn’s favor. The defense led by defensive end Carl Lawson absolutely wrecked Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen. Arkansas had 25 rushing yards and 190 through the air. Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele is reinventing the wheel with this formerly putrid Auburn defense.

There is still about a month left in the college football season, but if anybody is beating Alabama this year, it might be Auburn. These two bitter rivals won’t meet until the Iron Bowl Thanksgiving Weekend. Auburn was certainly impressive in this home blowout of Arkansas.

Three Stars

  1. Kamryn Pettway: Pettway was the best player in tonight’s blowout of Arkansas. He ran the ball 27 times for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
  2. Stanton Truitt: Truitt got into the Razorbacks’ end zone three times on Saturday night. He had eight carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Truitt would have another touchdown on a 48-yard pass from quarterback Sean White.
  3. Eli Stove: Stove didn’t have as many touches as his Auburn teammates, but he sure made the most of them. On four touches, Stove had 106 all-purpose yards, including a 78-yard paydirt on Auburn’s first play from scrimmage.
