Alabama had slowly been pulling away from Texas A&M in their top-10 showdown in the second half, and Jalen Hurts just probably finished them off with a long touchdown run.

Thanks to the play of true freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts and a ferocious defense, Alabama is the best team in the country and it’s really not even close.

The Crimson Tide played host to the No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa and as weird as the game had been throughout, the tide began to turn after a Jonathan Allen scoop-and-score for an Alabama touchdown.

It didn’t take long for Hurts and the offense to stick the dagger in the Aggies with a long touchdown run that will likely make SportsCenter once or twice on Saturday night.

Watch the A&M defense attempt to tackle Hurts, but to no avail.

"Jalen Hurts is ELECTRIC. @AlabamaFTBL takes a commanding lead on this TD run. https://t.co/YZiUPYb7TG— SEConCBS (@SEConCBS) October 22, 2016"

The touchdown run put Hurts and the Tide up 33-14 in the fourth quarter, which should just about do it for the Aggies in their quest to beat another No. 1 Alabama team on the road.

For the Aggies, it’s not the end of the world, but it might signify any chance of making their first SEC title game because of the dominant Tide. They likely won’t drop too far in the rankings due to playing the nation’s best team, so they’re still in the hunt for some late-season fun.

For Hurts and the Tide, it’s business as usual. They’re the best team in the country and nothing about this result is going to change things. The College Football Playoff rankings will be hitting the scene soon and to no surprise, Alabama will be the No. 1 team in that poll as well.
