Lamar Jackson started Saturday’s game against NC State red-hot with this 36-yard rushing touchdown.
Louisville’s Lamar Jackson has arguably been the star of the college football season. His 30 total touchdowns have led to Louisville having a 5-1 record and the No. 7 spot in the polls.
At this point in the season, Jackson’s name is written all over the Heisman Trophy. There have been other players putting up significant stats like Deshaun Watson and Trayveon Williams, but no one has come close to the dynamic performances that the sophomore quarterback has had. Barring an injury, he should get the award in December.
On Saturday, Jackson looked to improve his Heisman case during a conference game against North Carolina State. Louisville opened the game with the ball and quickly drove up the field. They got into Wolf Pack territory and gave the ball to Jackson for a run. Much like other highlight plays of his this season, he sprinted by the defense for a 36-yard rushing touchdown. This put the Cardinals up, 7-0.
This surely won’t be Jackson’s only score of the game. He has a knack for putting up multiple touchdowns in the passing and rushing attack every week, which is why he had 30 total coming into Saturday. How many more touchdowns could he score to improve his stick?

Jackson hasn’t been able to be stopped this season, and that probably won’t change during Saturday’s game against NC State. He’s set for a big afternoon to improve his Heisman profile and potentially move Louisville higher up the polls.
