Kansas Jayhawks quarterback Montell Cozart hits a wide open LaQuvionte Gonzalez for an impressive 68-yard touchdown pass versus the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
The Kansas Jayhawks might be one of the worst teams in Power 5 football. Kansas is only 1-5 on the year and very much a doormat in the Big 12. Their biggest criticism in 2016 has been its lackluster offense.
However on Saturday afternoon versus the rival Oklahoma State Cowboys, quarterback Montell Cozart hits his wide receiver LaQuvionte Gonzalez for a massive 68-yard touchdown strike. Gonzalez could not have been more wide open.
The Jayhawks have lost five straight for head coach David Beaty. Kansas won its home opener back on September 3rd against the Rhode Island Rams, 55-6. Since then, Kansas’ has only really been in one other game.
The Jayhawks lost by a point to the TCU Horned Frogs on October 8th, 24-23. Had Kansas made that last-second field goal at home, that would have been the Jayhawks’ first Big 12 win of the season.
If Kansas can hang touch with Oklahoma State at home on Saturday, maybe the Jayhawks can steal a Big 12 game this season. They have winnable games still left on their Big 12 slate. Kansas could potentially upset the Texas Longhorns, the Kansas State Wildcats, or the Iowa State Cyclones this season.

The Jayhawks aren’t expected to win another game the rest of the season. However, an upset at home against the Cowboys would be a huge boost to the down football program. It would delay Kansas from losing bowl eligibility for at least another week.
