Penn State came up huge in the fourth quarter vs Ohio State, blocking a field goal and returning it for a touchdown to take the lead

For the majority of the 2016 college football season, one of the more fun stories has been surrounding the special teams of the Penn State Nittany Lions. The hits delivered and taken by kicker Joey Julius have captured the hearts of fans. However, it was the other side of the kick that came up huge on Saturday. With the game hanging in the balance against the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Penn State kick-blocking team brought it.

Ohio State was up by four points when Urban Meyer elected to kick a long field goal. With less than five minutes left on the clock, a made kick would’ve been huge to put them up by seven. However, Penn State busted through the line and got a hand on the football. Not only did they stop the kick, though—they had more plans on the play.

A Nittany Lions player then scooped up the loose ball and took off down the left sideline. Though he had Buckeyes trailing him and even getting hands on him, he wouldn’t be stopped. He found his way into the end zone:

Absolutely incredible play all-around by Penn State there. With that, they not only took the lead, but got their home crowd inside Beaver Stadium rocking. As such, it put all of the momentum in their hands to pull off the upset of the No. 2 team in the country.
