Week 8 of the 2016 college football season is here. One of the games on the slate will feature a rare non-conference matchup between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the UMass Minutemen. Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina will be at 12:00 PM ET on Saturday, October 22nd. The SEC Network will have the telecast. The available live stream can be found on WatchESPN.
UMass is struggling to win games in 2016. The Minutemen are 1-6 on the year. Should UMass lose another games this season, the Minutemen will not be eligible to play for a holiday season bowl.
South Carolina comes in a 2-4 on the year. The Gamecocks are playing good defense for new head coach Will Muschamp, but have struggled to put up points in 2016. South Carolina has to win this game if the Gamecocks want any shot at playing in a bowl game this year.

According to OddsShark.com, the Gamecocks will be laying a whopping 21 points at home to the Minutemen. Given that South Carolina hasn’t score more than 20 points in any of its six games this season, that point spread is absurd.
It’s not like the Minutemen are going to score -1 points on the day in Williams-Brice. South Carolina will win, but we still haven’t seen the Gamecocks get into the end zone more than three times all season.
