Vanderbilt is coming off its first SEC road win of the Derek Mason era. The Commodores went into Athens and defeated Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs, 17-16 in Week 7. That game happened to be homecoming weekend in the Classic City. Vanderbilt continues to play great defense under coach Mason. Will the passing game ever get there is the bigger question.
Tennessee State is a strong HBCU school that is 5-1 on the year. The Tigers normally play their home games at nearby Nissan Stadium. It’ll be interesting to see the Tigers play Vanderbilt on the Vanderbilt campus.

There is no point spread available for this game because Tennessee State isn’t at the FBS level. A few things to watch with regards to Vanderbilt is how dominant the Commodores defense will be on Saturday night and if quarterback Kyle Shurmur can get the offense going vertical for once. Saturday is a great opportunity for Vanderbilt to build some momentum before the home stretch on its SEC slate in 2016.
