Willson Contreras belted it to deep left field for a home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6.
The Chicago Cubs are even closer to reaching the World Series for the first time since 1945. They currently hold a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. They are in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cubs catcher Willson Contreras gave his team another insurance run with a home run to left field.

Contreras has filled in smoothly in a loaded Cubs lineup even with starting catcher Kyle Schwarber missing. Schwarber has missed the entire 2016 season with a torn ACL. Contreras and Miguel Montero have each made significant contributions at catcher for the Cubs though.
The Cubs called up Contreras in June, and he did not disappoint. The 24-year-old catcher hit 12 home runs in 252 at-bats, demonstrating his dangerous power potential. The Cubs initially faced concerns on replacing Schwarber. The Cubs lineup has not missed a beat with Contreras taking over behind the plate though.

Dodgers starting pitcher and ace Clayton Kershaw has endured a frustrating night with four runs allowed in four innings. His playoff struggles have been well-documented, and his critics are sure to be roaring again after his Game 6 performance. Kershaw struggled against the Washington Nationals in his two starts against them. However, he temporarily quieted his critics with a dominant Game 2 performance. That consisted of seven shutout innings with six strikeouts.
Assuming the Cubs win this game, they will look to win their first World Series title since 1908. They would be set to face the Cleveland Indians. The Indians have received plenty of rest after capturing the American League pennant over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Cubs will be coming out with guns blazing though as they look to break their 108-year curse.
