Chicago Cubs have clubhouse celebration for the ages after NLCS win (Video)
The Cubs have the celebration of a lifetime fit for a win of a lifetime as they advance to the 2016 World Series.
The Cubs have reason to celebrate tonight as they advance to the 2016 World Series for the first time since 1945. Their 5-0 shutout win in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series capped a postseason that proved beyond a shred of doubt that the Cubs are in this to win. The Curse of the Goat is over.
After such a long victory drought, you can imagine that the postgame celebrations in the Cubs locker room were colorful. The champagne and beer bottles were popping as expected, but Joe Maddon’s wetsuit caught a lot of fans off guard. That’s some amazing planning to have a wetsuit ready in case of free flowing champagne showers, but this is the man who brought the Cubbies to the Series so he gets a pass.
Some of the notable guests in the locker room included Billy Williams and Eddie Vedder, who joined in the celebrations with the players.
John Lackey brought his best dance moves to the floor while Kris Bryant showered his teammates with booze. Bullpen catcher Chad Noble is the guy dancing with John Lackey in his hot dog underwear.
And why not? This is the celebration to end all celebrations, so why not dance in hot dog underwear? (Just watch as tomorrow’s hot dog underwear sales skyrocket)
All eyes were on the Chicago Cubs tonight as they capped off the pennant win with a trip to the 2016 World Series.
It’s one of those events in sports that fans will share with their grandchildren, and this 2016 Cubs team is going to make this celebration last as long as they can now that they’re four wins away from a World Series win.
