Giants at Rams: Highlights, score and recap
By John Buhler
The New York Giants beat the Los Angeles Rams, 17-10 at Twickenham Stadium in London on October 23rd in Week 7 of the 2016 NFL season.
The first game of Week 7 is in the books with the New York Giants hanging on to beat the Los Angeles Rams, 17-10 at Twickenham Stadium in London. New York heads into its bye at 4-3, while Los Angeles goes into its bye at 3-4.
It was a pretty sloppy game for both teams, but the Giants secondary made life difficult for Rams quarterback Case Keenum. Keenum threw four interceptions in this game. Admittedly, three were not his fault, but this Rams offense is still all kinds of pitiful.
Leading the way for the Giants on Sunday were defensive backs Landon Collins and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Between the pair, they had all four interceptions of Keenum to win this tight, defensive ball game in London.
This was not a fun game to watch on the offensive side of the ball. The best player on offense Sunday was Rams wideout Tavon Austin. However, he did had to drops that became interceptions for the Giants. The Rams couldn’t run the football with Todd Gurley and it proved costly for Los Angeles.
New York can be as high as second place in the NFC East depending on the outcomes of the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins’ games. Los Angeles will sit in either second or third in the NFC West depending on how the Arizona Cardinals play on Sunday Night Football.
Highlights
Three Stars
- Landon Collins: Collins was everything for the Giants defense on Sunday. He had eight tackles, all solo, two passes defended, and two interceptions for 62 yards and a 45-yard touchdown return.
- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie: Not to be outdone by Collins, Rodgers-Cromartie played a great game in the Giants defensive backfield. He had four tackles, all solo, three passes defended at two interceptions.
- Tavon Austin: From an offensive standpoint, Austin played fairly well for the Rams. He had 10 catches for 57 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter. Those two drops were awful though.
