Manchester City face Southampton at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 23. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Man. City have a chance to reclaim top spot in the Premier League with a win over Southampton on Sunday. City will be in a foul mood after being comprehensively schooled 4-0 in the Champions League game with Barcelona midweek.
Man City are winless in their last two Premier League games and four in all competitions, hardly the kind of form you’d expect from one of the league’s frontrunners. Then again, it further exemplifies the kind of parity seen in the Premier League.
City had won four in a row against Southampton before losing to 4-3 in May.
Saints, like most Premier teams, don’t fare well on their travels to Etihad Stadium and haven’t won there since April 2004.
Saints haven’t tasted defeat since a 2-1 away defeat to Arsenal on September 10. Since then, Southampton have won three of four games by a combined total of 7-1.
Charlie Austin, with seven goals in 10 matches, will lead Saints attack. Austin has scored on seven of his 15 shots on target and is lethal from anywhere inside the box. Man City will be on heightened alert, fully aware of the threat the big No. 10 poses.
Pablo Zabaleta is out with a foot injury for City while Saints’ Shane Long has yet to recover from a nagging hamstring problem. Otherwise, both teams are mostly fit for Sunday’s fixture.

It’s hard to imagine Man. City going three Premier League games without a win, which is why we think they’ll pick up all three points. As if their winless streak isn’t incentive enough, Man City won’t, like Tottenham and Arsenal before them, forgo the chance to move atop the Premier League table.
