California. Ivan Rabb. 7. player. 24. The Chicago Bulls have been engaged in an impressively strange roster building project that has seen the team bring in free agents Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade and trade for point guard Michael Carter-Williams. While all well-known names around NBA circles, none of them are quality perimeter shooters, which will require the Bulls to find other ways to space the floor.
California’s Ivan Rabb is a 6-foot-10 power forward with some potential to play center at the next level if he adds a bit of weight to his frame. Rabb flashed a viable mid-range game as a freshman last season and has the potential to expand his range out as he develops. That should be enough to help open up some slashing lanes for the Bulls’ guards and create interesting pick-and-pop opportunities for head coach Fred Hoiberg.

As a rising sophomore, Rabb is college basketball’s best returning prospect; he was a potential lottery selection in the 2016 draft. The 19-year old averaged an impressive 17.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per 40 minutes as a freshman while posting a highly efficient 63.6 true shooting percentage. Rabb should see an expanded role with the Golden Bears this season as high usage players like Tyrone Wallace and Jaylen Brown have either graduated or moved on to the NBA.
. PF/C
