SF. Florida State. Jonathan Isaac. 8. player. 73. The Denver Nuggets have amassed an impressive collection of young talent on their roster, especially in the backcourt and the frontcourt. Emmanuel Mudiay, Gary Harris, and Jamal Murray form the core of what the Nuggets hope will be a productive backcourt for years to come. Meanwhile, Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic are two of the league’s more promising young centers. The Nuggets, though, could still use some depth and talent on the wing where Danilo Gallinari has largely carried the load.
6-foot-11 Jonathan Isaac may be just what the doctor ordered. Like Thon Maker, Isaac could have entered the draft in 2016, but instead the 19-year old will spend the season at Florida State under the tutelage of Leonard Hamilton. Isaac has excellent upside as a combo forward who can make plays with the ball in his hands. He is a developing three-point shooter with promising mechanics.

Defensively, Isaac obviously has the length (7-foot-1 wingspan) to guard even the NBA’s biggest wings, but he needs to add quite a bit of weight to his frame in order to handle the physical battles that he’ll face on a nightly basis. Still, the freshman shows promise moving his feet along the perimeter and should be able to provide some secondary resistance at the rim due to his long arms.
