NBA Eastern Conference over/unders aka FREE MONEY (where legal)
By Keith Parish
The start of the the 2016-17 NBA season signals many things, not the least of which is the two-year birthday for the Fastbreak Breakfast NBA Podcast*. And while subjectively there are many things that can be said about our show’s first two years, objectively the one thing no one can criticize is our ability to pick some winners when it comes to team win total Over/Unders.
*If you are totally unaware of Fastbreak Breakfast, perhaps our “Previously on Season One” would be a good primer. Season Two was more of the same, but with less copyright infringement.
Our individual performances picking against the Vegas win totals the last two years are nothing to sneeze at, paced by our self-proclaimed expert Jon (@MasterJonBurr). He has put his money where his mouth is, compiling a stunning 42-18 mark, which he says merely compensates for his nightly losses going against the spreads. But the real achievement is when the three of us agree when prognosticating a team’s fortune. That has happened 24 times over the last two years and 20 of those picks were winners. If you don’t believe us, just dial up those old podcasts before we lock them up forever behind a paywall.
But will our hot streak continue? Or has it merely been blind luck? What predictions are we going to miss this year? And what predictions do we already regret? We begin with the Eastern Conference (around the 22:00 mark).
If you missed them, you may want to catch up on some of our team preview podcasts before the season starts. We have episodes focusing on the Lakers, Nuggets, Timberwolves, Grizzlies, Pacers, Bucks, Hawks, Heat, Jazz, Knicks, Kings, Pelicans, Magic, Nets and Hornets. There are also player interviews with Wade Baldwin IV and Brandan Wright and an episode covering prop bets. Fastbreak Breakfast episodes are available on iTunes, Stitcher and Soundcloud.
All music in the episode is by Codaphonic.
