The San Antonio Spurs face the Golden State Warriors in Oracle Arena on NBA Opening Night. Here’s how to watch the game online.
The Golden State Warriors were historically great last year. Stephen Curry and company set the record for regular season win at 73, Curry himself won MVP handily, and they had almost the perfect season. Of course, winning the title would have made it perfect and they failed to do that, blowing a 3-1 lead. After adding Kevin Durant in free agency, though, the Warriors begin their 2016-17 season against the San Antonio Spurs at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night.
Durant was the white whale of free agency that any general manager with a pulse was pursuing. However, the rich get richer in this instance as he went to join Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and company. They’re now expected to be even more of a juggernaut this season, which is saying something coming off of a 73-win season.
For the Spurs, things also look different following the retirement of Tim Duncan. In his departure, they added another great veteran in Pau Gasol to their frontcourt. However, no one would make the mistake in saying this is anything but Kawhi Leonard’s team now. On both ends of the floor, the Spurs will rely on him to make plays—especially in a matchup with Durant on NBA Opening Night.
