ESPN’s College GameDay is the ultimate pre-game show for college football. Where will College GameDay set up shop in Week 9?

ESPN’s College GameDay had a few interesting games to consider attending in Week 9. College football’s ultimate pre-game show could have gone to Jacksonville, Stillwater, Madison or Tallahassee.

ESPN wisely decided it was a weekend to celebrate the Pac-12. College GameDay will be in Salt Lake City to oversee the huge inter-division game between the No. 4 Washington Huskies and the No. 17 Utah Utes. Kickoff from Rice-Eccles Stadium will be at 3:30 p.m. ET. FS1 will have the telecast.

Washington is one of nine remaining undefeated teams left in Division I at 7-0 (4-0). The Utes will be the Huskies’ biggest obstacle to a perfect 12-0 (9-0) regular season. Utah comes is at 7-1 (4-1) with an October 1st loss to the California Golden Bears, 28-23.

Depending on how the Rumble in the Rockies shakes out Thanksgiving weekend between Utah and the Colorado Buffaloes, this game on Saturday could be a preview of the 2016 Pac-12 Championship Game in Santa Clara.

A win for either the Huskies or Utes on Saturday would make a compelling argument for either team’s College Football Playoff resume. This game features probably the two best coaches in the Pac-12. Kyle Whittingham has been tremendous in his time with the Utah program. Chris Petersen has the Huskies looking like a Don James Washington team from yesteryear.

The interesting part of ESPN’s College GameDay being in Salt Lake City is what Lee Corso might wear for his headgear selection. If he picks the home team Utah, we’ll see Corso look like Swoop the red-tail hawk. However, if he picks visiting Washington, does Corso look like Harry the Husky or have Dubs the real-life Husky come up and hang out with him on the College GameDay set? It should be a lot of fun either way.
