3. Trade with Cleveland for Duke Johnson Jr or Isaiah Crowell

Like I said earlier, Cleveland is in bad shape and they should be stockpiling picks and young talent so a smart general manager should pounce while the feeding is good. Cleveland’s running back tandem is strong and healthy, so why not poach some of their talent. I’m not sure if they will part with either player, Isaiah Crowell is leading the team in carries and Duke Johnson Jr is third in receptions.

Green Bay should definitely trade with the Browns for a starting running back. Either of these running backs is a better option than Starks or Jackson in the long-term. Both are starting caliber running backs with Johnson having a slight edge because of his age and athleticism.

I propose a similar trade as the one for CB Joe Haden, offer a medium to high draft pick for a starter the Packers dearly need. Some may say this is mortgaging the future for the present but I believe these are necessary moves.

Don’t forget that the Packers play in Green Bay where the weather gets bad and a reliable running game is imperative to their offensive success. Rodgers can’t be expected to throw 50+ balls a game in December with sub-zero temperatures.

Green Bay must bite the bullet and make some more moves before the deadline if they want to compete.
