2. Trade with Washington for Vernon Davis or Niles Paul

Washington has Jordan Reed, a top-three tight end, so they could be persuaded to part with either Vernon Davis or Niles Paul.

Green Bay and Rodgers is in desperate need for a playmaking tight end who can stretch the middle of the field and catch touchdowns in the red zone. Both of these Redskins’ backup tight ends fit that mold.  Davis is a veteran player who has Super Bowl experience and big play ability.

With needs elsewhere including on the defensive line, Washington would for sure part with one of these two players. I propose Green Bay trades one of their beefy defensive linemen for a starting tight end in either Davis or Paul.

Paul is severely underused in the Washington offense and I imagine he would be happy catching touchdowns from Aaron Rodgers instead of riding the pine in DC. Davis is looking for one last shot at a Super Bowl ring and Green Bay looks like a contender.

This looks like a win-win for both teams, the Redskins can’t stop a single running back and the Packers need some tight end receptions.
