The Golden State Warriors got blown out in their debut against the San Antonio Spurs and the hot takes are blistering.
The Golden State Warriors have plenty of high expectations this season. They won 73 games last season and added Kevin Durant to their roster. There was a ton of excitement going into their opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night, but the Warriors were dominated and humiliated on their home floor.
LaMarcus Aldridge, Kawhi Leonard and Jonathon Simmons tore up the Warriors on both ends of the floor. It was so bad, that the Warriors had to throw in the towel and empty out their bench in the fourth quarter. With a game turning out how no one expected, Twitter was full of blistering hot takes about the game.
With a team as popular as the Warriors, the takes were dumb and there was plenty of doom and gloom. Of course, there were also the trolls that wanted to pile on Golden State no matter what. Here are some of those takes.

Warriors wouldn't be losing this bad if they still had Harrison Barnes

Spurs may have beat G.S already, but don't let it distract you from the fact the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the finals

The Warriors haven't won a game since they blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

When it comes to a team like the Warriors, people will take pride in seeing them fall. It comes with the territory of having a team full of superstars. There will be plenty of more overreactions from this one, but the real story is how well the Spurs played.
Their offense was firing on all cylinders and they took away the shots the Warriors like. It will be interesting to see how Golden State responds the next time the two sides take the floor together.
