The Tennessee Titans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars by two touchdowns in Nashville in a Week 8 edition of Thursday Night Football.

Those expecting to see another free-for-all in Nashville between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans on Thursday night were certainly disappointed. They got the free, but it certainly wasn’t for all.

Mike Mularkey’s club came away with a 36-22 victory in a game that really wasn’t that close. The Titans rolled up 494 yards of total offense, including 214 yards on the ground. Running back DeMarco Murray continued to impress, running 21 times for 123 yards and a score.

In essence, this game was over by intermission. Tennessee led 27-0 after two quarters. They outgained Gus Bradley’s club, 354-60, in total yards and outgained them on the ground, 135-5.

While it was a pretty embarrassing night for Jacksonville, the Titans evened their record at 4-4 (one more win than all of last season) and put on quite the display of power football on Thursday evening.

Three Stars

1. Marcus Mariota

The second-year signal-caller continued his recent hot play. Mariota connected on 18 of his 22 throws for 270 yards and two scores in the Titans’ win. It marked the fourth consecutive game in which the young quarterback threw at least two touchdown passes. After opening the year with four scores and five interceptions in his first four contests, Mariota has thrown 10 TD passes and been picked off just once in his last four games.

2. DeMarco Murray

The rejuvenated running back gained the majority of Tennessee’s 214 rushing yards on Thursday evening. Murray ran for 123 yards and one touchdown in the 14-point win. It marked the third time in four games he rushed for 100-plus yards and the third consecutive outing in which he reached the end zone.

3. Kendall Wright

The former first-round pick totaled four grabs for 84 yards and a score, the touchdown courtesy of a 36-yard toss from Marcus Mariota. Wright also gained 15 yards on a run as well. After missing the first three weeks of the season and catching just three passes for 23 yards in his first two outings, the talented pro has hauled in 14 passes for 229 yards and two scores in his last three games.
