NBA Rumors: R.J. Hunter signs with Chicago Bulls
By Nick Ziegler
There aren’t too many NBA Rumors this early in the season, but one of the most recent ones is about R.J. Hunter signing with the Chicago Bulls.
Recent NBA Rumors are that the Chicago Bulls have agreed to terms with guard R.J. Hunter according to Jeff Goodman.
Shortly after being released by the Boston Celtics, it appears that Hunter will be getting a chance with the Chicago Bulls. Hunter had a really disappointing rookie season for the Celtics after being drafted with the 28th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
It isn’t often to see a team give up on a first-round pick after just one season, but that is what the Celtics did. Due to the Celtics having a lot of young players at the guard position, Hunter found himself as the odd man out.
Last season, Hunter averaged 8.8 minutes per game while appearing in 36 games. After being a very good player in college, the transition to the NBA has not been an easy one for Hunter so far.
Due to the Bulls lacking shooters at the guard position, the signing of Hunter makes sense. Hunter didn’t get the chance to prove that he can be a good shooter in the NBA last season, but that is something that he excelled at in college.
Having a backcourt of Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade is very good, but neither of them is going to be stretching the floor well. While Hunter will have to work hard for minutes, they certainly might fall into his lap due to Wade’s health.

Finally, a motivated Hunter will have a chance to prove the Celtics wrong for giving up on him so quickly. The Bulls have a talented veteran backcourt, and if Hunter is wise, he will listen and learn from Rondo and Wade.
